I was upset for exactly five minutes - and then I remembered: women lying, manipulating, and playing politics to break through the invisible ceiling isn’t anything new. And as a ex-military wife, I’ve become pretty well-versed in betrayal. You learn quickly in those circles that having a knife in your back is just part of the dress code.
The most ironic part? The founder of that previous CIC - the one that pushed me out after using my skills and lived experience to further their own agenda - was a military wife too. You’d think she’d know better. You’d think she’d understand that women like us should lift each other up, not try to steal someone else’s fire.
But here I am - stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever.
And more importantly? I’m no longer doing it alone.
Finally Free: A CIC Built on Fire and Grit
Now, I’m building something better. Together with Rachel, a woman with just as much fire in her belly and just as little time for bullshit, we’ve launched Finally Free CIC - and we’ve already achieved more in a week than that entire team from Lazyville managed in six.
Why? Because we don’t centre men and money in our mission. We centre women, community, and real change.
We’re here for women who’ve been failed by the system. Women who’ve been abused, ignored, silenced, or gaslit - and we’re not stopping until they’re seen, heard, housed, and supported.
Our First Fundraiser: Ride for Sarah 🏍️
To kick things off, we’re organising a nationwide motorbike ride-out on 20th September, in memory of Rachel’s sister, Sarah Jane, who tragically lost her life after years of domestic violence and institutional failure.
This event, Ride for Sarah, will raise funds for our first safe haven — The Sarah Jane Centre - and show women everywhere that they are not alone.

Every pound raised brings us closer to opening a home where women and their children (and yes, their pets too) can finally breathe, rest, and rebuild without a ticking clock or judgement.

To anyone who thought pushing me out would make me disappear — sorry, not sorry. I was never built to quit. I’ve taken every stone thrown at me and built something stronger.
Because I am the powerhouse.
And together with Rachel, we are unstoppable.

Because the revolution is already rolling, and we’re not slowing down for anyone.
