Why Dope Soul Village® Exists: Marketplace, Community & Decentering Men
Dope Soul Village® started as a clothing brand, but it has grown into a global Marketplace and community for women by women. Our mission isn’t just about products - it’s about building a space where women create, sell, and support each other, while taking back the resources that have historically been siphoned away by men who benefit from keeping women down.
We live in a world where women are constantly asked to make do with less, while men profit from the systems that oppress us. Men are disproportionately given access to funding, opportunities, and platforms — yet many of those same men actively or passively perpetuate inequality, harassment, and abuse. This isn’t bitterness or resentment; it’s truth. And it’s time women stop financing the people keeping us down.
DSV is our response. By building a Marketplace and community for women:
-
Women fund women: Every sale on our platform stays with the seller, creating financial independence.
-
Decentering men: Women-led, women-run, and women-supported — no gatekeeping, no profit siphoned to the people who hold us back.
-
Empowerment through collaboration: Any legal product a woman creates can be sold, and every connection fosters real-world opportunities.
What We Do
Through Finally Free CIC and DSV, our goals are bold:
-
Create long-term, trauma-informed, pet-friendly shelters for women and children — spaces that genuinely support recovery, not just survival.
-
Support women financially, emotionally, and practically, from emergency housing and transport to therapy, legal aid, and education.
-
Build a Marketplace and community where women can launch products, projects, and ideas globally, free from male-dominated systems that profit off our labor.
Until permanent shelters are fully funded, we step in wherever we can — covering hotel rooms, taxis, food, therapy sessions, court fees, and other essentials that help women escape safely.
Our Mission & Outcomes
Through DSV and Finally Free CIC, we ensure:
✔️ Women keep their money and power — no male middlemen taking a cut
✔️ Survivors never return to abusers due to fear or financial pressure
✔️ Access to trauma-informed care, including EMDR and neurodivergent-friendly support
✔️ Children of all ages and genders are included, educated, and supported
✔️ Teenage boys are safely housed with their mothers
✔️ Pets are never left behind, thanks to boarding facilities
✔️ Survivors gain practical independence: therapy, driving licences, job training, and housing
Marketplace & Community: How It Changes the Game
DSV isn’t just a platform — it’s a movement:
-
Marketplace: Sell any legal product you make. Flat fees, no commissions, global reach, full control. Every sale funds women supporting women.
-
Community: Connect, collaborate, and lift each other up. Mentorship, advice, or solidarity — this is a space built by women, for women.
-
Impact: Every product sold, idea shared, or collaboration launched contributes to safety, recovery, and independence for women, children, and pets.
