Why are we doing this?

Why Dope Soul Village is More Than Just a Feminist Brand

I founded Finally Free CIC because I refused to accept a system that keeps survivors stuck. After facing my own battles with domestic abuse and witnessing how flawed and underfunded the current refuge system is, I decided to do something about it.

I didn’t want performative awareness. I wanted real-world change.

That’s how www.finallyfreecic.org was born – a survivor-led organisation on a mission to ensure no woman is ever forced to go back to her abuser because she had nowhere else to go.

What I Do

My aim is simple but bold:
To create long-term, trauma-informed, pet-friendly shelters for women and their children – the kind of safe spaces that actually support recovery, not just survival.

These will be known as DSV Centres & Villages, with each one named in honour of a domestic abuse victim, turning their story into a legacy of safety and hope.

Until I have the permanent shelters built and fully funded, I step in where I can – covering emergency hotel rooms, taxi fares, food, therapy sessions, court fees, and anything else that helps a woman escape safely.

Where Does the Funding Come From?

Enter Dope Soul Village – my feminist fashion and empowerment brand.
It’s more than just a clothing line – it’s the main fundraising channel.

Every hoodie, T-shirt, or product sold helps to:

  • Cover emergency needs like safe transport or accommodation

  • Fund long-term shelter planning and set-up

  • Support women rebuilding their lives with therapy, legal aid, driving lessons, and education

  • Fund pet boarding facilities so no woman ever has to leave her animals behind

This isn’t a short-term fix. The goal is full independence for survivors – mentally, emotionally, and financially.

My Mission & Outcomes

The ultimate mission is to ensure:
✔️ No woman goes back to her abuser out of fear or financial pressure
✔️ Women have access to real trauma-informed care (including EMDR and neurodivergent-friendly support)
✔️ Children of all ages and genders are included in care, educated about abuse, and supported in recovery
✔️ Teenage boys are safely housed with their mothers in secure shelters
✔️ Pets are never left behind, thanks to on-site or nearby animal boarding
✔️ Survivors can gain practical independence: therapy, driving licences, job training, and housing
