Real Help. No Time Limits. Dope Soul Village x Led by Dreams: A Movement, Not Just a Mission

At Dope Soul Village, we’ve always said we’re not just here to make feminist hoodies and sensory-friendly PJs – we’re here to make a bloody difference. And today, we’re beyond proud (and a little bit emotional) to share the incredible news of our collaboration with Led by Dreams, a powerhouse foundation run by the equally badass and brave Shelly.

Together, we’re not just dreaming about a better world for women – we’re building it. Brick by brick. Shelter by shelter. Soul by soul.

Why This Collaboration Matters

Both Dope Soul Village and Led by Dreams were born from lived experience, grit, trauma, and unshakeable determination. We’re tired of the performative nonsense that looks good on paper but leaves women stuck in the same cycles of abuse, homelessness, and bureaucracy.

We’ve watched – too many times – as women finally find the strength to leave abusive situations, only to be met with…

• 6-week maximum stays in a shelter

• Endless red tape

• Being told to “go back” because there’s “nowhere else”

• Judgement, shame, and silence

It’s not good enough. Not anymore.

What We’re Doing Differently

Led by Shelly and myself (Sam – founder of Dope Soul Village and stubborn warrior of all things justice), we’re opening Women’s Refuges with no time limits, no hoops to jump through, and real, tangible support.

This is about creating safe homes, not just emergency stops. Homes where:

• Women and their children can heal, not just survive

• Neurodivergent and disabled women aren’t pushed to the back

• Survivors are met with compassion, not conditions

• There’s help with rebuilding careers, accessing therapy, finding long-term housing, or just getting a bloody good night’s sleep without fear

This Isn’t Just a Project. It’s Personal.

For both of us, this is more than charity work – it’s our lived reality. I (Sam) have been there. I’ve faced abuse, injustice, and silence from the very systems that are meant to protect us. I’ve had doors shut in my face, and watched others shut down entirely.

Shelly? She’s been fighting these battles too. She knows what it’s like to carry the weight of generational trauma and still rise. And she’s spent years building Led by Dreams into a foundation that truly sees and serves women.

Now, we're combining forces – because together, we're louder, stronger, and utterly unstoppable.

We’re currently in the process of securing properties across the UK, turning them into safe havens where women can finally exhale. We're working with architects, social workers, and trauma-informed specialists to make sure these spaces are done right – not just fast.

There’s a long road ahead. But we’ve walked worse. And this time, we’re walking it with purpose, power, and a whole damn village behind us.
